Our quiet area is a space that children can go to when they feel overwhelmed and overloaded by the sensory input from the immediate classroom it gives them time and space to calm their sensory systems and take control of their emotions again. Dramatic play is a vital part of childhood and child development. Through creative play and imaginative play children can grow emotionally, socially, intellectually, and even physically.
Language supports children's ability to communicate, and express and understand feelings. It also supports thinking and problem-solving, and developing and maintaining relationships. learning to understand, use and enjoy language is the critical first step in literacy, and the basis for learning to read and write
Physical activities promotes healthy growth and development. It helps build a healthier body composition, stronger bones and muscles. It also improves the child’s cardiovascular fitness. Physical activities helps in the development of better motor skills and in concentration and thinking skills.
Cognitive development means how children think, explore and figure things out. It is the development of knowledge, skills, problem solving and dispositions, which help children to think about and understand the world around them.
